ARMED AND FAMOUS

Armed and Famous episode 4

A juicy assignment kicks off this night’s duty: Officers La Toya Jackson and Trish Stratus will go undercover as Muncie prostitutes. They take their roles seriously, donning acid wash jeans and lots of makeup to give them that “been there, done that” look.

They hit the streets with La Toya’s partner, Officer Amy Kesler, watching nearby giving instructions, and Officer Erik Estrada and his partner, Officer Jami Brown, close by in their police vehicle ready to rush in if there’s trouble.

Trish gets approached by a couple of “johns,” but can’t sell the goods.

Meanwhile, La Toya is offered sex by one man who speeds away. She’s then approached by a man who is doing something rather indecent in his car. Officer Estrada moves in to make the collar, while La Toya races down the street on foot to capture the perp. The man is arrested, and everyone credits La Toya’s good work in bringing him in.

The next night Officer Estrada responds to a stabbing call. When Erik arrives, the man who was stabbed verbally attacks Erik, yelling obscenities and calling Erik words that are best not written here.

His insults set Erik off and he loses his cool. He screams obscenities right back at the man. Soon the slinging match ends and Erik fears he went too far. He asks his partner, Jami, to keep this from the Sarge. Unfortunately, she says, the Sarge was on the scene (as was a local newspaper reporter, as we’ll find out later). Trouble’s brewing for Erik.

Across town, Jack responds to “the craziest call I’ve had in Muncie”—a bloody fight between a man and a woman.

The woman is covered in blood, and Jack tries to get her story but she’s lying through her—wait a minute—where are her teeth? While she tells a tale of a bar fight gone overboard, it become obvious to Jack that she is trying to protect herself and her husband from losing their children. The husband and wife continue to kiss each other and profess their love through the blood and handcuffs. Turns out they both have warrants and are sent off to jail.

But first, this call takes an even sadder turn when the woman says goodbye to her children, who are understandably upset.

Once she gets in the patrol car and catches herself in the mirror, she’s shocked by her bloody appearance; Now she knows why her kids were so upset by what they saw.

It’s late at night and Officer Jackson and her partner Amy Kesler respond to a church alarm. Upon arrival, La Toya begins to search the premises with her gun drawn.

Much to her partner’s amusement, La Toya crouches down and searches the building as if she just became one of Charlie’s Angels.

After the church call, La Toya and Kesler are on patrol and La Toya recognizes a man from the previous night’s prostitution sting—it was the man who tried to get her into his car for sex. She pulls him over and reads him the moral riot act. She tells him not to pick up prostitutes again. La Toya’s happy she said her peace.

In the light of day, Officer Estrada is off duty and goes to a local cafe to enjoy his coffee and the morning paper.

Unfortunately the front page story is about him, with a big picture of him losing his cool at the stabbing scene from the night before.

This isn’t good. Soon enough, Chief Winkle calls Erik in and confronts him about the situation.

He makes it clear that Erik can’t let the situation control him, that has has to control the situation. Erik promises never to do that again and meekly moves on.

As a favor to the chief, “Wee Man” is sent on a call to visit a Muncie family. It turns out this family has a lot in common with “Wee Man.” He arrives and meets twin five- year old girls who are also Little People.

They’re shy at first, but listen to “Wee Man” as he talks about his own childhood and how he first met people like himself. Soon enough they warm up and they all have a great time playing.

“Wee Man” shows his softer side when he gives the girls a big hug, and then he’s on his way back to protect the citizens of Muncie.
Out on patrol, Officer Stratus and her partner, Officer Kyle Temple, respond to a domestic dispute.

They find a husband and wife in a terrible argument about baby shampoo. Turns out that the husband is mad at the wife for using adult shampoo on their baby, and the wife is mad at the husband for not trusting her.

Trish takes this all in before coming up with a plan. Much to her partner’s dismay, Trish takes the husband under her wing, bringing him to a local shop to buy baby shampoo and flowers—all to take home to his wife as a peace offering. Meanwhile, Officer Temple wonders aloud how “of all the celebrities in town, why did I get stuck with the Dr. Phil wannabe?”

La Toya and her partner, Kesler, respond to a noise disturbance call. Upon meeting the neighbors, they quickly understand the situation as loud music emanates from the house next door.

According to the neighbors, this happens all day and all night and they just can’t take it any more. La Toya and Kesler knock on the home of the offending neighbors. The musicians quickly recognize the music royalty in their presence. Upon inspection of the house, La Toya remarks that the Jackson Five started in a little room just like this not far away in Gary, Indiana. She asks the musicians to respect their neighbors and keep it down, but first they want to play her a song. Afterwards, La Toya thanks them for the music, but reminds them to keep it quiet. She and Kesler head out as the musicians ponder what just happened.

Erik responds to a fight between two sisters who are mad as hell at each other. They’re yelling and cussing left and right, and Erik tries to calm them down. Soon, one of the sisters swears at him, he tenses up, but doesn’t fight back. He calmly tries to take control of the situation, and not let the situation take control of him. On the way out his partner, Officer Jami Brown, lets him know she’s proud of how he handled the situation. Erik remarks he learned a lot from the chief and will never lose his cool again.
Trish and her partner respond to a missing person call. They explain that the police were called to check on a man who failed to show up for work for several days.

When they walk through the door their worst suspicions are confirmed—the man is dead. They are able to determine that he’d been ill, and it appears that he had died peacefully in his sleep. When the man’s family shows up, Trish becomes a shoulder to cry on. It’s not a situation she ever expected to be in and it makes her appreciate every day.

Later on, La Toya responds to a stabbing call. The suspect is a man we met in the first episode when Jack Osbourne ran into him after he got in a fight. Jack didn’t know at the time that he’s one of Muncie’s biggest troublemakers. La Toya doesn’t want him to get away this time. She and her partner take him down to the ground, he resists arrest, and out comes the taser, but it has no effect. The man continues to struggle.

It’s as intense as it gets as they cuff the guy and load him into a patrol car. On the ground nearby La Toya finds a crack pipe.

Back at the diner, our celebrities gather after another night on the streets. For Erik, these past few days have taught him a big lesson in restraint. Trish remarks that with each night on patrol, she gets more and more confident in the job, and as for La Toya, she loves being an officer of the law. Our celebrities have once again made Muncie a little bit safer, all while being ARMED & FAMOUS.
